So I had my To Do list in hand.
- Make bed
- Start a load of laundry
- Read Bible
After about a week, I really got into the groove of it. I started really enjoying the time my husband and I had together in the mornings. We ate breakfast together, talked about the upcoming events of the day, and prayed together.
And here’s the kicker, I wasn’t super tired in the afternoon. I did, however, look forward to going to bed a bit earlier than 1am.
We still have our share of late nights. Hubby still needs to study at night and I still have plenty to work on. But I love our mornings together. I feel like I’ve accomplished something.
I actually started listing out all the great things I could get done in this precious window of time. I could work out, clean the bathroom, plan out dinner, etc, etc, etc. I made goals and plans…
And then I scrapped them.
I did! I am sticking with my list of 3 morning things. I don’t want to overcomplicate this or get frustrated that I’m not getting more done. If I get just those 3 things done, I’m ahead of the game.
Maybe someday I’ll add more to my list. Maybe not. I’m enjoying having mornings with my husband as both of us get ready for the full work day ahead of us. I’m keeping this simple for now.
And I’m loving it!
